John 4:34 Jesus talks about his nourishment being more than the consumption of food, but that is came from doing the will of God. Jesus is our example and we should aim to imitate him. Jesus was concerned about completing the work God gave him to do than eating. Jesus got his strength and purpose for living from doing God’s will which included loving people and telling them about God’s love.

John is the fourth and final gospel (and a personal favorite of mine 🙂

John is described as the “beloved disciple” and known for his closeness to Jesus. John also wrote the book of Revelation which records Jesus’ second coming.

Due to John’s close relationship with Jesus, this book records both Jesus’ public and private ministry, as well as his suffering, death, and victory over death.

John shows his faith in Jesus Christ by his actions but also tells about the seven miracles that took place from turning water into wine, to raising Lazarus from the dead.He also tells about the faith of the Samaritan woman at the well and the woman who was caught in sin who found faith through forgiveness and Thomas the doubter who learned to trust in Jesus through faith. What I love about the book of John is that it takes us to a vulnerable place where we can relate. But also show’s us that we can also put ALL our faith in the one who gave it all for us. Jesus Christ!

John, an apostle, James’s brother, and known as “Son of Thunder”.

The book of John is not part of the synoptic Gospels. John’s writing of the Gospel is unique. He uses several images to illustrate who Jesus is and how he gives us eternal life. One example, is John 20:31, “These things are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and that by believing in him you will have life.” and another is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”.

Also, because of his unique perception, we know that Jesus is the spotless Lamb of God who was sacrificed for us, the bread of life who satisfies our spiritual hunger, the living water who satisfies our spiritual thirst, the light who guides us, the good shepherd who leads us, the true vine who gives us life, and the counselor who comforts and teaches us. With God’s help, we can drink the new wine of a changed life, take responsibility for our sin, and recover from our sicknesses. He has the power to help those in need of recovery.

In conclusion, Jesus is the Son of God, and when we accept him into our hearts as Lord & Savior, we can experience a new life.

The Gospel of John is one of the earliest accounts of Jesus’s ministry. the beginning of John states that in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and the word was God, then John later describes Jesus as the word made flesh basically saying Jesus was God. This is very important because many will claim that Jesus was just a prophet but the gospel of Luke overtly states that Jesus is messiah and God . the purpose of the Book of John is stated in the end, the story is written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the messiah and that by believing you may have life in his name. The Claim of John is that Jesus and the Father are one, and goes on to support it with the words of Jesus’s and miracles He performed throughout the gospel of John.

In John 16, Jesus talks about the Holy Spirit. He starts to tell them, but only gives them enough information about it because it is too much to bear at that time. The Holy Spirit brings the conviction of God as explained. We must obey what the Holy Spirit is telling us because His source of information is from Jesus himself. If you’re not sure what that’s like, then you must draw closer to God through fasting and prayer and ask God for the ability to hear or be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. It’s not loud, but as gentle as a whisper.
And after the earthquake there was a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. (1 Kings 19:12 NLT)

In John instead of starting with the geneology of Jesus he points to Jesus being the divine Son of God that Jesus was at creation with God and He was God. I would think why does John say the apostle that Jesus loved and it’s because he focuses on Gods’ love for us and what that love did for us. This gospel is where the most famaous scripture comes from and its about Gods’ love “for God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16 John writes about the miracles of Jesus that prove Jesus divinity and His prophetic words.

The Apostle John wrote the most famous verse in the New Testament (John 3:16) this was written on purpose to persuade the audience to believe that Jesus is Lord, The Son of God and we all shall come to have eternal life. John presents Jesus to us as The Son of God (Eagle) the one with no beginning. The chronology of Christ´s earthy ministry is constructed from the Gospel of John, he builds his Gospel around 7 public miracles and/or signs, each designated to show Jesus is God! John does not forget to mention how the Holy Spirit being our comforter, teacher, and our guide, always glorifies Jesus, not Himself. He is also the Spiritual water, in the Old Testament water and Spirit are recognized as spiritual renewal and cleansing. This certain spiritual cleansing can only be accomplished by Holy Spirit. But the Holy Spirit cannot come unless Jesus ascends. When Jesus´ time was coming to an end, He did not try to delay or avoid being arrested, put on trial, scourged, crucified and put to death! But thankfully on the third day Jesus arose out of the grave and came to be in His holy spiritual body. Throughout this book the number 7 is represented as perfection and completion. In this we see how evangelistic the book of John truly is and from reading this book, we all shall come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah.

The Gospel of John is very much an evangelistic book. It teaches us that Jesus taught by every word and every act. The purpose of this book is to cause people to believe that Jesus is the Savior and to show us how to obtain life through his word.
