The gospel of John includes only seven miracles John calls them “signs to demonstrate the deity of Christ and illustrate His ministry. Some of these miracles and stories, such as the raising of Lazarus, are found only in John. The gospel of John shares much about the approaching ministry of the Holy Spirit after Jesus’ ascension. John brings home WHO Jesus is. The first paragraph alone is so powerful. He reveals that Jesus IS the Word, He was here in the beginning with God, and He IS God. I learned that all things were made through Him. Jesus’ words in the book of John provide so much inspiration, comfort and encouragement. He gave us the right to become children of God. He desires for us to know Him that we may have life. He will send us a helper, the Holy Spirit, that will dwell in us. And we have the privilege of dwelling in Christ and He in us. He gives us peace that the world can’t give us. He prays for us. He has a heart for us. He loves us and calls us to love one another as He loves us. I’m thankful for John’s recording of Jesus great love for us.

The Book of John is the forth Book in the Bible. In John 1v1 In the beginning the Word existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. Here John is introducing Jesus as the Devine being. Jesus begins His ministry by allowing John the Baptist to Baptize Him in the Jordan River so He can start His ministry, and He goes on to pick His 12 disciples.

The Apostle John the disciple whom Jesu loved (13:23; 19:26; 20:2; 21:7). John knew Jewish life well, to the hostility between Jews and Samaritans (4:9); and to Jewish customs, such as the duty of circumcision on the eight day. The Gospel of John has many touches that appear to reflect the recollections of an eyewitness-such as the house at Bathany being filled with fragrance of the broken perfume jar (12:3). Mary poured the perfume on Jesus feet and wiped it with her hair.

John’s Gospel is rather different from the other three. His witness to Jesus foes its on way, highlighting matters that in the other gospels where implied not expressed enough and underdeveloped. John’s writing style of his witness of Jesus is unique among the Gospels. His focus was on the signs of Jesus identity and mission (2:1) and on faith building topics with authority.

In John is the last book that states about Jesus birth, walking on earth then being baptize in the Holy Spirit, preaching to many and choosing His 12 disciples to teach and grow in the wisdom of the Lord, suffer a death that should have been mine to wash me clean and forgive me of my past, present and future sins to save all the lost sheep by being our Shepard, Savior and Master. John shared His relationship with Jesus and all Jesus miracles and wonders, plus to state in John 14.1 ” Do not let your heart be troubled (afraid or cowardly), Believe [confidently] in God and trust in Him, [have faith, hold on to it, rely on it, keep going and] believe also in Me.  God is so trust worthy and good all the time that Jesus is the closest image to God we will see.

John was the disciple whom Jesus loved. The purpose of the book of John was to cause us to believe that Jesus is The Christ and to show us how to obtain a life through His Name. His purpose is not to present a chronological narrative of the life of Jesus but to display His deity. John sought to strengthen the faith of second generation believers and to bring about faith in others, and he also sought to correct a false teaching that was spreading in the first century. He emphasized Jesus Christ as “The Son of God” fully God and fully man. The gospel of John continues to fulfill its purpose of evangelizing to the lost even to this day.

John is the fourth and last gospel presentation of the Lord Jesus. In my opinion as they say we saved the best for last. John is the disciple that Jesus loved dearly. John walked with Christ in Galilee in his younger years till he was a veteran. So I’m most certain that John knows a lot about Jesus. More than what we can ever read about. In the book of John we find the most well known verse John 3:16. I always knew this verse growing up, but not till I got older did I truly understand what this verse meant.  This verse is what has changed my life. This verse means so much to me and even when I do read it and think about it I cry.

John was an Apostle that walked with Christ from his teens in Galilee to a seasoned veteran in Asia. He wrote the best-known verse in the New Testament (John 3:16). In this one verse, we have the Gospel in a nutshell! John wrote 3 epistles (letters), the Revelation, and the Gospel of John.

He was the “beloved” pastor at Ephesus and was exiled to Patmos where he wrote the book of revelation preceding the Gospels. We have learned what Jesus is and now John presents the completion of who he is.  The chronology of Christ’s earthly ministry is constructed from the Gospel of John? From the other 3 Gospels, Jesus’ ministry appears to last a year.

The references to the annual feasts in John give us approximately 3 years for His public ministry. Note the first Feast of Passover (2:12-13), a feast (5:1), possibly the Passover or Purim; second (or third) Feast of Passover (6:4); the Feast of the Tabernacles (7:2); the Feast of Dedication (10:22), and the last Feast of Passover (12:1). Where Matthew presents Jesus as the Messiah-King (LION), Mark presents Him as Jehovah’s Servant (OX), Luke presents Him as The Son of Man (MAN) John presents Jesus to us as The Son of God (EAGLE).

The Book of John was filled with the importance of people knowing the itis imperative to know the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. Additionally, John wanted to lead the people to be resolved in their faith that the works and Words of Jesus are the only way for them to eternal life. And that the power was in the name of Jesus Christ! His Gospel also pointed to the people having the belief in Jesus is essentially how they would have the knowledge of God. John chose to only give account of only seven of Christ’s miracles, proclaiming that these seven miracles were “signs” of Jesus mission. John recounted 2 sides of Jesus’ ministry, His public ministry (Chapters 2 thru 12) for the people, and His private ministry (Chapters 13 thru 21) to His Disciples. John theologically points out how Jesus was pre-existing with God in deity, and His incarnate state in the flesh of a human. John also gives a important and unique distinction to the Holy Spirit at work with Jesus. John calls Him, an Advocate and a Comforter distinguishing that the Holy Spirit work beside Jesus throughout is ministry. The Book of John gave me new insights about Jesus ministry. And that of the significance and essence of how we must worship God. I learned that it is imperative for us to be endowed with the Holy Spirit, because this is the only way that we can truly (aletheia= in truth) worship Our Father God! (John 4:24) “For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and in truth.”

Even though the book of John covers the same basic outline of Jesus’s life as the other three gospels; it contains marked differences in content and viewpoint.  John highlights many encounters with the son of God that are found nowhere else; the miracle of Cana, the visit by Nicodemus, the Samaritan woman at the well, a lame man at the pool of Bethesda, the man born blind, and the beloved Lazarus. Johns choices of what to include are governed by a clear goal: “These are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God” (20:31)

    lesson 9 John  JC

Jesus was Jehovah God, the eternal word made flesh. He came to his home, Israel, and he was rejected. Jesus came to this world and the world rejected him, but anyone who would believe and receive him would have life through his name, and be given authority to call themselves a “son of god”. Purpose.

    lesson 9 John  JC

Jesus was Jehovah God, the eternal word made flesh.  It tells us how many time John uses the word believe 98 times and the word Life 36 times in an effort to embed the importance that one must believe in order to live eternally.

John gives clear evidence that Jesus is the Messiah and that he is more than jus a man. In the beginning was the word and the word was with God, and word was God.

John talks about the resurrection of Jesus Christ and how his death and burial took place.

i learn  from John that we should write things down what Jesus had done for us and share with both belivers  and  non-belivers
