John, an apostle, James’s brother, and known as “Son of Thunder”.

The book of John is not part of the synoptic Gospels. John’s writing of the Gospel is unique. He uses several images to illustrate who Jesus is and how he gives us eternal life. One example, is John 20:31, “These things are written so that you may continue to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God and that by believing in him you will have life.” and another is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life”.

Also, because of his unique perception, we know that Jesus is the spotless Lamb of God who was sacrificed for us, the bread of life who satisfies our spiritual hunger, the living water who satisfies our spiritual thirst, the light who guides us, the good shepherd who leads us, the true vine who gives us life, and the counselor who comforts and teaches us. With God’s help, we can drink the new wine of a changed life, take responsibility for our sin, and recover from our sicknesses. He has the power to help those in need of recovery.

In conclusion, Jesus is the Son of God, and when we accept him into our hearts as Lord & Savior, we can experience a new life.
