The book of Esther is the only book where God is not mentioned, yet you can see His hand print all throughout the book. This book is filled with so many prophetic parallels, prefigurings, and divine reversals. We see providence and not coincidence being strategically carried out. Esther, preordained before the foundations of the world, to be anointed as a least likely figure of redemption for her people, carries out the calling placed upon her. The anointing process of Esther was significant in that it was a 12 month process or preparation. 12 is the number of perfection of government or rule. Esther’s anointing was to bring deliverance to her people and establish a new government and decrees. This was unheard of as decrees were not able to be changed; yet Esther’s preparation and anointing had given her the supernatural strength and influence to turn the decrees around. Her words she uttered at the feast of Purim give evidence to the prophetic and powerful anointing she operated under as she spoke,”If it pleases the king, let it be granted to the Jews who are in Shushan to do again tomorrow according to today’s decree, and let Haman’s ten sons be hanged on the gallows.” This was a prophetic parallel to the Nazi trials at Nuremberg during world war II. These trials would hold top Nazi officials, enemies to the Jews, accountable for their detestable actions towards the Jews. The Nazi officials would then be tried and sentenced for their heinous acts against God’s chosen people. And just as Haman’s ten sons were hanged on the very gallows they built to hang the Jews, so too, 10 Nazi leaders of these trials were hanged on the very gallows they used to hang the Jews during the Holocaust. Divine reversal through the anointing! That same anointing Ester carried is ours today if we so choose to allow ourselves to be prepared and utilized without reserve for God’s purposes. We carry within us the ability to divinely reverse the curse bring deliverance to those in the dark.
