In the early Hebrew manuscripts first and second Samuel were considered one book . The earliest manuscripts entitled the one book “Samuel”, after the man God used to establish the Kingship in Israel . Samuel is one of 6 children born of “barren”women in the bible . After Gods assistance all six had boys to carry out Gods plans . Samuel started his ministry as a small child , Promised to God as a gift from his mother Samuel was assigned to a people lacking faith in God and demanding man to be there leader and king , pushing God to the side . So being the God of ” permissive will” he let them have their way . As always God chose the path of kings which lead to our king David and eventually our true King of Kings .
