The Book of Judges tells the history of Israel under leaders called judges that was considered a military ruler led by the Spirit of God. Judges is also the sacred scripture of the Hebrews and recording their history as the chosen people. Judges explains the importance of being loyal to God and his laws above all other Gods. Since the Israelites worshiped Canaanite Gods it led to an invasion by the nation of Moab. God named Ehud to be its deliverer. Isreal had no kings during this time, there was 12 Judges raised to get Israels attention:
Othniel, Ehud, Shamgar, Deborah, Gideon, Tola Jair, Jephthah, Ibzan, Elon, Abdon, and Samson
When Isreal cries out to God the Judges will save them by leading them to battle against enemies with heavenly help restore peace and prosperity. But as soon as that judge dies, Isreal turns to sin again.

    The Book of Ruth

The Book of Ruth means friend in hebrew. Ruth was an ancestor of Jesus Christ. Ruth is a symbol of being devoted, loyal and staying by someones side (her mother n law) through everything (her husbands death). Later marries Boaz.
