In what seems like a miracle and renews hope in God the Jews rebuild Jerusalem’s broken down walls in 52 days. Nehemiah is the King’s cup- bearer and has favor with the King. When Nehemiah gets news that the walls surrounding Jerusalem are in very bad shape he becomes very sad. He begins to fast and pray and catches the eyes of the King and he tells him to take a leave of absence allowing him to go and rebuild the walls. No only does he allow him to leave, he provides supplies to rebuild the walls, lumber to build Nehemiah a house in Jerusalem and also provide him with armed soldiers and charioteers to travel round trip to get all this done.
