Judges is placed in the time following Joshua’s death. It was a time of strife and turmoil for the Israelites as they tried to conquer new territories. They fought amongst themselves and rebelled against God. Many heroes were met in this book however including Gideon, Sampson, and Shamgar. God does not allow sin to go unpunished in this book.
Ruth remains loyal to her mother in law after her husbands death. This leads to her being taken care of by God through the people she meets(Naomi, Boaz). Through her faithfulness she is rewarded with a husband and children. God is a redeemer in this book
