Reading Jeremiah and Lamentations makes me so grateful for God’s love, mercy and grace. Even in his punishment, He had plans for good for His people. I’m so grateful for His new covenant, that allows us to be in relationship with Him, in spite of our sin. It also makes me sad for God. He gives us so much, and doesn’t ask for much in return, but as a people in this world, we continue to reject His love for selfish desires.

I admire Jeremiah’s walk with God. Jeremiah had an amazing heart for God and his people, and amazing obedience, and God trusted him with much. When he got weary or afraid, God reminded him that He will be with him and deliver him. He also reminded him to stay strong, for if he is wearied by the little things, how will he stand through the greater challenges? Those are great reminders for me as I try to be obedient to God in all areas of my life.
