Isaiah 53:7 (NLT) He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep is silent before the shearers, he did not open his mouth.
Isaiah prophesied what was to come, which is our Lord and Savior! As I read this scripture it touched my heart. It brought to remembrance what Jesus did for me on the cross; what He went through: spit on, beat, whipped, impalement, the suffering, the torture – all without saying a word against them. He took everything, including my sin, to the cross. What He did is miraculous! Think about a time when you were treated harshly and were quick to open your mouth. This scripture checked me and broke me at the same time. Forgive me Lord of my shortcomings, help me to more humble and be more like you, Jesus. Thank you for your sacrifice, for your precious blood! Amen.
