Queen Vashti was disobedient to her husband King Ahastuerus by not coming to his feast as requested. The king knew he would have to make an example for the consequences of her disobedience so that her disobedience would not start a new trend for the other wives to think they could become disobedient to their husbands. God does this too. In the Bible we see how God is just and fair and punished the disobedience of His people to make examples of their behaviors to put Godly fear into others of the consequences of sinning.
