The book of Esther starts off with the banquets of the king and king ahasuerus ordered his guards to bring queen vashti in his presence to show off her beauty but she refused to come at the kings command so the king relieved her as queen and began to look for her replacement. Esther found favor in his sight and became queen; than mordecai saves the king. Then it goes into hamans plot against the Jews. Esther learns of hamans plan to intercede so she plans a banquets. The king planned to honor mordecai; haman must honor mordecai. Haman is hung, mordecai was promoted; the kings decree avenged the Jews. The Jews destroy their enemy’s and finally into the feast of Purim is instituted.
