Deuteronomy was like a reminder book for the Israelites, recapping what had already been established in the previous books of the pentateuch. It is in this book that God’s love is first mentioned. The central message of this book is obedience. Jesus often referenced this book in the New Testament. Moses was the man! He was and still is the only prophet that the Lord has known face to face. He lived 40 years in Egypt, 40 years in Midian, and 40 years in the wilderness. He was 120 when he died and is the only man that God buried. He saw the land of Canaan but was unable to cross the Jordan to enter the promised land because of his sin.
