In this book of Daniel. Daniel lived during a time when the Jewish people seemed to have little hope. They were living as captives in Babylon. Hundreds of miles from home, with only promises from God that they would ever see their homeland again. Daniel was taken to Babylon as a young men. Although he was a captive. He received a education and rose to high positions in the Babylonian and government. But because of his faith in God of Israel he was persecuted and even sentences to death. But God rewarded him for his faithfulness and he was recued from death. This reminds me that as long as were are obedient to the Lord we will always have favor!
