As I was reading 1 Kings/2 Kings talks about King David dying and transferring his throne to his son Solomon and the rise and fall of many kings who served the Lord or themselves. What caught my attention the most was 2 Kings chapter 19 verse 11-12. It talks about the prophet Elijah who was going through a severe trial and was to the point of giving up. The Lord comes to him, not in a strong wind, earthquake, or fire but comes to you in a still small voice. Brings me to a time in my life when all chaos and confusion that I felt like running and giving up also. I couldn’t get no help from the church, family, or even friends. I spent time with the Lord close to giving up but the Lord responded to me in love and encouraged me in a still small voice.
