It’s amazing to me that David was a king after the God’s heart (1 Sam 13:14) even though he made many mistakes throughout the book of 2 Samuel. It goes to show that God is not looking for perfect people, He’s looking for faithful people. King David’s faith was never in question, just some of his actions. As I continue my walk in following Christ, this book reminds me that I’m not perfect either and I will make mistakes (it’s okay to say it – sin). It’s how I respond to the sin. It’s by God’s grace that I am saved and can be forgiven as long as I repent, sometimes pay the consequence, and continue in my faith in Christ. Don’t let condemnation bring me down; that’s the work of the devil.
