The book of 1 Peter is a reminder to us that this earth is not our home. We are simply passing through this place on our way to our true home in heaven. On our journey through this life we will face obstacles that will shake us but we cannot let it overtake us or derail us as we were purchased with the precious blood of Jesus. This gives us an inheritance that the world cannot take or shake.
