Luke 4:18 (NLT) “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent
me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,
When the gospel is preached, deliverance for the captives, healing for the blind (physically & spiritually) comes
and oppression goes! Salvation is more than freedom from sin…it is freedom from pain and bondage too.
I. Receiving and Operating in the Redemptive work of Christ
A.

Romans 12:2 (TPT) “Stop imitating the ideas of the culture around you, but be inwardly
transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower
you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect.”

Isaiah 53:3-5 (AMP) “He was despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and pain and
acquainted with grief; And like one whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we did not

sorrows and pains; Yet we [ignorantly] assumed that he was stricken, struck down by God and
degraded and humiliated [by Him]. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for

being fell on Him, and by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.”

II. The Purpose of Inner Healing

We cannot hide behind the door of our wounded emotions. To be set free we must go back through the same
door. This will require us facing the painful truth of what has happened. We may experience pain in the
process of healing, but to be free we must confront these painful truths and replace them with the truth of
God’s word. It is only through His word and by the power of the Holy Spirit that we are healed and made
whole. John 8:32 (NLT) “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
