The revelation came from God, to Jesus, to the angel, then to John. The first three chapters of Revelation addresses the seven churches. What is, what is commended, what is condemned, and warnings to repent. Ephesus was a loveless church, Smyrna was a persecuted church, Pergamos was a compromising church, Thyatira was a corrupt church, Sardis was a dead church, Philadelphia was a faithful church, and Laodicea was a lukewarm church. The fourth chapter is where prophecy begins. John describes what he saw when he entered the open door; the throne, the elders, and the living creatures praising and worshipping the Living God.
