The revelation came from God, to Jesus, to the angel, then to John. The first three chapters of Revelation addresses the seven churches. Ephesus was a loveless church, Smyrna was a persecuted church, Pergamos was a compromising church, Thyatira was a corrupt church, Sardis was a dead church, Philadelphia was a faithful church, and Laodicea was a lukewarm church. The fourth chapter is where prophecy begins. John describes what he saw when he entered the open door; the throne, the elders, and the living creatures praising and worshipping the Living God.
