Leviticus describes a system set by God from sacrifice, rules, and consequences for violating the rules. The sacrificial blood from the animals spilled on the altar represents what Christ did for us on the cross. I also learned that the five different offerings represented what Christ offered for us. For example, the peace offering represents the communion we partake in remembrance of how Jesus bought peace for us. The sin offering represents when Christ became sin himself, died, and resurrected to defeat sin and cleansed us by the spilling of His blood.
