Judges
We meet Deborah in the book of Judges. A woman warrior, I loved that! Deborah was a hero and a prophetess who leads the Israelites when they are threatened by the Canaanites. She formed an Army under the command of Brak and together they destroy the army under control of Sisera. We also have the birth of Sampson in Judges and hear of his might strength until he comes under the spell of Delilah and his world comes crumbling down. I loved personal stories in this book.
Ruth
Very short book but a good one. Tells of the love, death, loyalty and a Kingsman Redeemer. The story of a woman named Naomi who lost her husband and her sons. She felt lost and alone…but the Lord restored her through her daughter in-law Ruth. Ruth stays with her Mother in-law after her own husband and together they move to Bethlehem. This is where Boaz comes into the picture. Boaz marries Ruth and they have son and named him Obed. Naomi’s life was renewed and restored through this little boy.
