James wrote to the early church that had been scattered everywhere. He knew that they were going through tough times. The book of James was written to Christians in order to teach them instructions for Christian living. He wrote to correct evil things such as worldliness, backbiting, lust, hypocrisy, greed, pride, etc… By this, James was showing that faith without good works is dead! Faith alone is not enough. The fruit of true faith is living a good, godly, obedient life. If a person claims to be a Christian, but is no different from an unbeliever then how will that benefit us or the person that is not saved that needs us to be that example of Christ. Praise the Lord for His instructions on godly living!
