Isaiah is one of the major prophets in the bible. The word prophet means one who speaks in place of another. Prophecy means a declaring of the future which can only be by the direct inspiration of God. The central message of Isaiah is a throne, a lamb. Isaiah chapter 6 talks about how God worked in Isaiah’s life. Isaiah prophesied about the coming Messiah, that he would be born of a virgin in the city of David, how His kingdom would rule forever, and how He would die and bare the sins of many. Isaiah’s prophecies were confirmed by New Testament passages.
