    Biblical Studies 102    Week 3        Lesson 2    2nd Quarter

    Book of 1st Chronicles

These two Books retell the history oof Israel from a slightly different viewpoint than that of Samuel and Kings, which two Books are also divided into two parts, many of the same stories are repeated in Chronicles.

King David is the most important person in the 1st Book of Chronicles. He is the one who made Jerusalem the center for worshipping of the Lord God. David also honored as the founder of the Temple, even though it was his Son Solomon who actually build it. Much of 1st Chronicles is made up of the list that trace the descendants of Adam to the time of King Saul (Chapter 1-9).  In this Book David was made an example of someone who faithfully obeyed and worshipped the Lord.

    Book of 2nd Chronicles

Second Chronicles continues the history of Israel that began in 1st Chronicles, This book tell how Jerusalem was destroyed and the people were led away as prisoners to Babylonia, This Book also concludes with HOPE for the Jews. In (Chapter 34: 8-33) When Hilkiah found part of God’s Word during the Temple’s repairs, his comment was with delight and amazement. Josiah heard God’s word being read, and his Heart was excited, Just the way  our Hearts should be as we hear  God’s word and as we read, you see God’s word is very powerful it gives us information and also encourages us, it points out those places in our lives where we have not quite lived up to God’s standards, and is shows us how we can overcome our weaknesses and find PEACE with GOD and OURSELVES…
