This week we learned about 1 Timothy. Paul was writing to encourage Timothy in his overseeing of the Ephesian church. He also wrote about the structure within the church. This letter is known as a foundational letter which provided guidance for ordaining people within the church. If the church was not organized it would not have structure. In this letter Paul also encouraged and instructed Timothy on how to handle false teachings. He also encouraged Timothy to maintain order during the worship, reminding him that women should never be over men in spiritual matters, and and that they should not assert their authority like dictators but lead in the spirit of love and kindness.
