Hosea had to take a wife from harlotry; he had children with her and God told him to name them after judgements that would come upon Israel. His Gomer went back to harlotry and Hosea had to take her back, forgive her and love her just as God has done for Israel over and over.</span></p>

He called them out on their hypocrisy for acting like they were so religious and he emphasized the need for a true relationship with God.</span></p>
