The Book of Ecclesiastes is another Book written by King Solomon. He wrote this book as a record of his own experiences with disappointment as he tried to find peace apart from God. Solomon uses a series of examples’ wealth, wisdom, popularity, pleasure and shows how each of them ultimately ends in disappointment and it becomes the sole reason for ones existence. ch 12:13 “Fear God and obey his commands, for this is everyone’s duty” Solomon abandoned any hope in the worldly pursuits and decided that glorifying God provides the only lasting meaning in life.
