The books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon were all written by Solomon. The proverbs give us the practical wisdom of life as they are drawn from long experiences. Ecclesiastes gives us our purpose in that apart from God there is no purpose only emptiness. If there’s only emptiness there’s no way the practical wisdom of the Proverbs can be applied. There’s no way we would be able to understand that the Song of Solomon is a prophetic parallel to the bridegroom going after the bride and her being to busy or caught up with other things to let her groom in. We would fail to see, in our emptiness, that the bridegroom is Jesus and the bride is the church or us. These 3 books, so intricately written and woven give us the essence of what is to come and how wonderful that day will be. That going through the experiences of life with Christ will bring us purpose and a fullness of joy so that when that beautifully anticipated day of His return we will be ready as a bride is without spot, blemish, or wrinkle, ready to be taken into the bridegrooms chambers to commune and spend eternity all eternity with. Oh glorious day!
