When Solomon became the King of Israel, he asked God for wisdom and knowledge to lead God’s people. Keep in mind that Solomon could have asked God for anything he wanted because that is what God told him, to ask for anything he wanted and it would be given to him. God was very pleased with Solomon. This showed the condition of Solomon’s heart. He was concerned with God’s people and being the type of leader that would please God. Then God gave him that and more, in fact more than he had given any other King before. This is an example to me, that if I put God’s priorities before my own, He will take care of every other need in my life abundantly greater than I could think or ask.
