Although Hannah’s husband favored her, she was sad because she could not have any kids; therefore she said to God that if he gave her a son, she will give him back to God. Hannah gave birth to Samuel and kept her promise by given back to God. She took him to the temple and God raised him to be a judge and a prophet to Israel. Samuel spoke the word of God to the people and taught them how to live. When Samuel was close to dying the people wanted a king someone that will talk to God for them. God gave Saul but he was selfish and he ignored the word of God therefore he gave them David, a man after God’s Own Heart. David encouraged them to act like God’s people. Saul was jealous and tried to kill David but the lord was with David.
