The Book of Joshua starts off with the death of Moses and Joshua being appointed to take his place to lead Israel starting with the order to cross the Jordan River with the second generation. They had to be circumcised going into the destruction of Jericho and the defeat at AI the Fall of AI into the battle vs the Amorites. That’s where Joshua prayed to God for the sun to stand still over Gibeon and the moon in the valley to get the Victory. God allows the sun and the moon to stand still, and in so doing the executing of the kings of the Amorites and the land being decided amongst all of the tribes and the cities of refuge, cities of the Levites.. then Joshua’s farewell address is stated and he dies at the end in his old age.
