The Pentateuch describes the obedience of the Israelites and the results of their actions. Deuteronomy describes the faithfulness of God to the people by keeping His promise to their ancestors – leading them to the Promise Land. Deuteronomy also describes the love God has for His people for the first time in the first five books. It’s through His love that He displays His faithfulness to us. He will not abandon us or forsake us.
Deuteronomy 31:8
It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
